Police in East Vincent Township were called to the Park Springs Apartment Community at about 2:30 a.m. on April 15 to find 33-year-old William Stafford dead in the street from multiple gunshot wounds, said District Attorney Deb Ryan in a release.
The victim was laying near a white Ford Taurus, officials noted.
When investigators pulled surveillance tapes, they saw that Stafford had been a passenger in the car minutes before his death, the DA said. The video showed Stafford and the driver exit from the car at about 2:28 a.m., authorities wrote.
While Stafford was standing next to the Taurus, the driver "walked to the trunk of the car, re-entered the driver’s seat, exited again," and then shot the 33-year-old point blank, officials claim.
After Stafford was on the ground, the suspect walked over and shot him twice more, authorities said. He was also seen punching Stafford and rummaging through his pockets before running off, they added.
Police say they tracked the suspect using security cameras and saw him enter his residence on the 900 block of Park Springs Boulevard. He soon reemerged wearing a different shirt, briefly returned to the scene of the crime, and fled again on foot, according to the DA's Office.
The suspect has since been identified as 41-year-old Quinzell Chucky Mickey of Spring City, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued, prosecutors say. He is wanted for murder, robbery, and illegal firearm possession.
“This was a senseless, cold-blooded, execution-style murder," DA Ryan wrote. "The defendant had no legal right to own a gun and now has tragically ended the life of a young man who leaves behind a family including his children."
Mickey is considered armed and dangerous, police noted.
